Last one
Greeting everyone, welcome to my last post on this blog. It really has been a journey. At the start of the course, I was unsure of what to expect and how I would do, but to my surprise I noticed that this course had flown by quite smoothly. At the start of this blog, I talked about my language learning goals and what I would like to improve in. The point of this post is to go over what I have learned as well as give you all some personal tips from yours truly to improving in English.
The number one thing to improving and mastering English is not to read the vocabulary and theory for countless hours and studying alone. I have found out that the best way to improve in English is getting basic repetition in and putting yourself in situations where you need to use English to communicate with others. This greatly boosts your basic kit at hand and really trains you for the real-world adaptability of your language skills. Countless hours of reading will increase one’s vocabulary, but won’t hone your pronunciation and forming of sentences to the max. That to me is the most important part of learning foreign languages.
I believe that in the future, I will be needing to use my English skills to communicate through difficult tasks with a team that isn’t guaranteed to understand Finnish. English being the uniting language of our area of work, I will be betting on my well-honed skills of the language to survive, adapt and overcome.
What comes to continuing my learning journey after the course, I really hope that I will be able to have skilled international team members that I can not only practice my language skills with, but also further nurture my career and confidence in international work.
With that being said, I really hope that every single one of you that went through this course together with me or will be going through this course would embrace this journey wholeheartedly. I think it’s truly special to get to do this and be put into unfamiliar situations. From those moments you will prosper and gain experience to swiftly improve your language learning skills. Remember to seek interactions with everyone and put yourself in situations that are unknown to you. I would like to thank every single one of you who read through these posts, commented and shared their own thoughts.
Farewell.
I've learned English the same way and I hope in your journey you will learn more and improve since English is one of the uniting languages in our area of education. Thank you for your blog posts!
